2010 McAuley-Swann Family Reunion Official Information

Dear Family & Friends,

We hope that you are well and ready for another family reunion.  We promised that we would get the family reunion plans out to you so please read below.

The Family Reunion Committee voted to have two events this year.  We will have a reunion gathering in July and in September 2010.  The reason for this is that some family members are unable to travel long distances for various reasons and may not be able to participate in other planned activities.
Initially, the reunion was planned for September 10, 11, & 12, 2010 at Myrtle Beach, SC only.  As stated above, after realizing some of our senior citizens and others who may not be well could not travel the distance, the family reunion committee decided to host a July event in Broadway, NC as well.  Both events are for all family members and friends.

July 3, 2010 - Saturday:  Broadway Community Center, Broadway, NC (approximately 5 miles southeast of Sanford):  The activities will start at 10:00 am., business meeting will be held, other activities not finalized at this time, a catered lunch will be served, entertainment, etc.

July 4, 2010 - Sunday:  We will attend church at New Beginning for Christ, 11:15 am located at 44 Allen Lane, Sanford, NC 27332.  After church, you will be free to do whatever you would like.

Costs for the July 3rd event:   Children ages 0 to 5 – no cost, Children ages 6 to 11 - $10.00 per child, Adults  ages 12 & over - $30.00 per adult.  The deadline for sending the July funds in was May 31, 2010.

September 10, 11, 12, 2010Breakers Resort-ParadiseTower , Myrtle Beach, SC

Sept. 10-Friday:  Chartered bus will leave Sanford, NC at 12:00 pm enroute to Myrtle Beach, SC.  Friday evening, we will attend the Dixie Stampede Show where dinner is served and included in the price for the showSeptember 11- Saturday:  A day at the beach, shopping for some and Broadway at the Beach for others.  Saturday evening  -  A catered dinner at the resort in the Bell Room along with other activities and election of new officers for the 2012 family reunion.

Sept. 12-Sunday:  Chartered bus will leave Myrtle Beach for Sanford, NC.
Accommodations at Myrtle Beach

Each suite has a living room, full kitchen, dining table and a balcony overlooking the ocean.  We will be staying  2 nights

The September amount may be paid in installments as was done for the 2008 Reunion.  All monies must be submitted to the family reunion because we are going to pay for everything in a check from the reunion.  The deadline for receipt of the money for the September trip is June 30, 2010.

Your registration forms must be complete.  Even if you choose not to attend either event, please complete your form and send it in.

We will sell raffle tickets again this year.  Each family is asked to sell at least 25 tickets or if you prefer to purchase them instead, that is fine.  Please let us know how many tickets you would like to have and we  will  mail them to you. 

The cost for the chartered bus is $50.00 per person and the cost for the Dixie Stampede show and dinner is $41.00 for ages 12 & over and $25.00 for ages 4 to 11 per person. 
The cost per person for the Saturday night dinner at Myrtle Beach is $15.00.

Please note that the cost of your suite per person will be determined by the number of persons sharing your suite.  If there are 4 persons rooming together, the cost of the suite should be divided by 4.  If there are 6 persons, then divide the cost of the suite by 6.  Please list the names of the persons sharing your suite and the suite type that you would like such as V, X, etc.  After you figure your portion to pay for the suite, please add the costs for the Dixie Stampede, chartered bus & Saturday night dinner per person.   

Again, we will be staying 2 nights at Myrtle Beach so you will need to double the amount of your suite before dividing it by the number of persons sharing it.  That will be your total owed to the family reunion for your Myrtle Beach trip.

bullet Oceanfront Deluxe Suite (V) –1 Bedroom with 2 queen beds in the one bedroom, 1 wall bed (lets down from wall & sleeps two) in another area of suite: $114.00 per night

bullet Oceanfront Superior Suite (W) – 2 Bedrooms with 2 queen beds in each bedroom, 2 full baths (one Jacuzzi), washer & dryer: $193.00 per night

bullet Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Suite (X) – A king bed in 2 of the bedrooms and 2 queen beds in the 3rd bedroom, 2 full baths (one Jacuzzi), washer & dryer: $231.00 per night
